Can Myanmar Nationals Set up an Elderly Care Center in Thailand?

Myanmar nationals can set up a health care center in Thailand that will provide care for groups of senior citizens. You must have a Thai partner(s) that will hold at least 51% shares of the company.  It can also be eligible for BOI promotion under activity 2.2.2.1 Senior/dependent care center provided that it is majority owned by Thai nationals.

If you want to get BOI promotion for your health care center, you have to comply with these conditions:

1. Your project must be a senior/dependent care center according to the Health Business Establishments Act.

2. Your project must have more than 31 beds for overnight stays of admitted patients.

3. Your project must provide the senior/dependent persons with care and support by allowing them to stay overnight and offering rehabilitation activities.

4. The company must obtain health establishment license. The registration must be completed before exercising the incentive of corporate income tax exemption and before the full operation deadline.

– Exemption of import duties on machinery

– Exemption of import duties on raw materials used in Research & Development
