Foreigners can manufacture fertilizers in Thailand and receive incentives from the government. You can register the company under Thailand BOI activity number 1.4.1. This activity includes manufacture of biological fertilizers, organic fertilizers, nano-coated organo chemical fertilizers and bio-pesticides. To qualify for the promotion, the products must meet these conditions:
- For biological fertilizers, organic fertilizers and nano-coated organo chemical fertilizers, these must be registered and obtained license for manufacturing fertilizer for trade from the Department of Agriculture. The registration must be completed before exercising the incentive of corporate income tax exemption and before the full operation deadline.
- For bio-pesticides, these must be registered and obtained certificate of permission to produce hazardous substance (class 2) from the Department of Agriculture. The registration must be completed before exercising the incentive of corporate income tax exemption and before the full operation deadline.
Once promoted, the company can be granted with the following incentives:
- No corporate income tax for 5 years
- No import duties on machinery
- No import duties on raw materials used in R&D
- No import duties on raw materials used in production for export
- Other non-tax incentives
