Countries Permitted to Enter Thailand From 1 November 2021

COVID or not, here we are! Thailand is partly opened. In accordance with the Notification of the Operation Centre for Measures on the Arrival into and Departure from Thailand, and Protection of Thai Nationals Abroad dated 21 October 2021, the following are the list of countries permitted to enter Thailand from November 1, 2021.

Schemes for Entering Thailand (by Air) – effective 1 November 2021

With reference to the abovementioned 46 countries and territories permitted to enter Thailand from 1 November 2021, the following are the schemes for travelers entering Thailand by air.

Exemption from Quarantine

  • Only travelers from eligible countries are permitted provided that they had stayed in the eligible countries for at least 21 consecutive days before traveling to Thailand.
  • They are not required to undergo quarantine but they must wait for RT-PCR test result at the hotel for 1 night or until the negative result was received
  • They must be fully vaccinated (at least 14 days before traveling to Thailand)
  • They are required to have 1 night reservation at SHA+ or Alternative Quarantine (AQ) Hotel. Payment confirmation is required.
  • They are required to have a medical insurance with minimum coverage of USD 50,000. Thai nationals are not required to avail this medical insurance.
  • They must have a RT-PCR Covid-19 test result issued within 72 hours before traveling
  • Upon arrival, they are required to have one RT-PCR Covid-19 test. Travelers are responsible for test fees which is included in hotel reservation.

Sandbox Program

  • Travelers from all countries are permitted provided that they have arrived through the International Airports at Suvarnabhumi, Don Mueang, Chiang Mai, Phuket, Samui, U-Tapao and Buriram (chartered flights only).
  • Travel is restricted in Sandbox Area for 7 days. They must wait for RT-PCR test result at the designated hotel before traveling.
  • They must be fully vaccinated (at least 14 days before traveling to Thailand).
  • They are required to have 7 nights reservation at SHA+ in Sandbox Area. Payment confirmation is required.
  • They are required to have a medical insurance with minimum coverage of USD 50,000. Thai nationals are not required to avail this medical insurance.
  • They must have a RT-PCR Covid-19 test result issued within 72 hours before traveling
  • They are required to have two RT-PCR Covid-19 test on the arrival date and on the 6th or 7th day of stay. Travelers are responsible for test fees which is included in hotel reservation.

Alternative Quarantine

  • Travelers from all countries are permitted.
  • They are required to undergo quarantine at the AQ hotel for 10 days.
  • Vaccination is not required.
  • They are required to have 10 nights reservation at an AQ hotel. Payment confirmation is required.
  • They are required to have a medical insurance with minimum coverage of USD 50,000. Thai nationals are not required to avail this medical insurance.
  • They must have a RT-PCR Covid-19 test result issued within 72 hours before traveling. Thai nationals are not required
  • They are required to have two RT-PCR Covid-19 test on the arrival date and on the 8th or 9th day of stay. Travelers are responsible for test fees which is included in hotel reservation.
